OVERVIEW

The Assessment Practice (6N2228) course is a QQI Level 6 minor award
which aims to provide the learner with the relevant knowledge, skills and competencies to conduct assessments in many areas of Quality Assurance Frameworks.
On conclusion, the learner will be able to understand the requirements of certifying bodies and understand a range of tools used for assessment.
This course is an excellent addition for learners who have completed the QQI Special Purpose Certificate in Training and Development (6S3372) and need to explore further the role of assessment in evaluation for individuals and organisations.

REQUIREMENTS

This course is ideal for:

  • Individuals who have obtained a Special Purpose Certificate in Training and Development (6S3372)
  • Individuals who have an interest in working in a training capacity and need to understand deeper the role of assessment and evaluation within the Training and Development environments
  • Individuals who want to learn how to create customised and relevant assessments
  • Individuals who wish to learn how to correctly implement an applicable and objective marking scheme

  • Understanding the theory and principles around assessment in many settings including Training and Development and performance management
  • Understand how to accommodate diversity within the Assessment process
  • Determining effective techniques for assessment within different environments
  • Learning how to correctly conduct different types of assessments
  • Creating assessment plans that are customised to different environments.

  • Learner Record Assignment (30%)
  • Skills Demonstration (40%)
  • Examination (30%)

METHOD OF DELIVERY/DURATION

  • Three options – Classroom, Blended and In-house
  • Delivered over 120 hours (including independent study and assessment)
  • Delivered over 5 days/8 mornings

COST

€495 in total – includes blended learning, workbooks, validation verification, authentication and Certification. There is a cost reduction if completing QQI Level 6 – Certificate in Training & Development – QQI Special Purpose Award 6S3372

PROGRESSION

Upon successful completion of this programme, the learner may use this module as a stepping-stone to help in the progression route towards gaining a full major award in many different Level 6 programmes on the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ).

This award is a progression from the QQI Special Purpose Award in Training and Development to help them further understand the role of assessment in Training and Development. Alternatively, the learner may be eligible to apply to progress to the next or higher levels of the NFQ with a higher education provider.
