This course has been designed to help you improve your interactions with other people in your workplace or at home. It will give you the opportunity to improve the critical communication skills of listening, asking questions and being aware of nonverbal messages. The course can also help participants who are struggling to find that middle ground between being too aggressive and too passive, and how to counter the manipulative tactics of difficult people. Participants also learn more about the elements of our communication with others that help us reveal appropriate information about ourselves, and how to get a handle on how to better manage ourselves for a professional image.

- Become aware of the five types of relationships and learn how to implement the 10 commandments of positive relationship building.
- Understand personal communication barriers and create strategies to overcome them including improving self-image, your frame of reference, the assertiveness formula and knowing what you want in any given situation.

This course will allow participants to improve interactions in both professional and personal situations. It focuses on building confidence and competence in communications in both a personal and professional setting. Participants have gone on to complete many of the administrative accredited courses at QQI Level 5 including Business Administration, Front-line office skills and Reception Skills.
