OVERVIEW

The Conflict Management (6N2775) is a minor Level 6 QQI award that aims to provide learners with the relevant knowledge, skills and competence to engage with the module content and utilise the learning to effectively deal with conflict and external stressors arising in the workplace. It is designed to get participants to critically engage with the theory and practice of conflict management and to develop their personal understanding of their own style of conflict in group and organisational settings. Successful participants will be equipped to effectively handle situations where conflict, anger and hostility are encountered in a workplace environment.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Individuals who have an interest in Communication and Understanding Conflict within a business/structure or on a personal basis
  • Persons who have conflict management responsibilities in organisations.
  • Individuals and teams involved in stressful situations and Managers and team leaders who wish to gain an insight into Personal Awareness and Conflict Management
  • People who wish to gain a formal qualification in Conflict Management

CONTENT

INDICATIVE CONTENT

This course provides the learner with an opportunity to adapt and improve their own personal style in a range of topics including communication, planning, problem solving, team leadership, delegation and negotiation skills.

Some of the topics covered include:

  • Theoretical framework of conflict management
  • Communication and understanding conflict
  • Conflict management skills
  • Personal awareness and conflict management

ASSESSMENT

  • Project (60%)
  • Assignment (40%)

METHOD OF DELIVERY/DURATION

  • Three options – Classroom, blended and In-house.
  • Delivered over 120 hours (including independent study and assessment).
  • Delivered over 5 days/8 mornings

COST

€495 per course, reductions for doing 2 or more courses. Further reduction in doing the full major award (Certificate in Advanced Business Management (6M4985) or integration of modules. Grants are also available.

PROGRESSION

This Certificate will allow participants to improve their personal & professional conflict management skills. Mapped onto the National Qualifying Framework at level 6, this module can be used as a minor award towards gaining a full major award in many different Level 6 programmes, including the Certificate in Advanced Business Management (6M4985). Graduates of this management course could also progress to level 6 courses in colleges and higher education providers. Contact our coaching department for help with an individual progression plan.
