OVERVIEW

This financial management (6N4165) QQI Level 6 course is aimed at learners, who want to gain the skill of understanding management accounts and analysis of businesses. It covers the principles and practice of financial planning, reporting and analysis within an organisation and helps the learner gain a deeper understanding of the importance of accounts and financial management for an organisation, large or small. Participants who successfully complete this course will have the relevant skills and competencies that are needed to be efficient in their financial management role.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Individuals who have an interest in financial management and may wish to pursue it as a career
  • Individuals or Teams who have financial responsibilities in organisations or are involved in some way with understanding the importance of finance in the overall strategy of an organisation
  • Managers and team leaders who wish to gain an insight into finances, accounts, budgeting and costing
  • People who wish to gain a formal qualification in finance

CONTENT

INDICATIVE CONTENT

On this course, learners are given an opportunity to develop the skills needed to gain employment in the finance sector.

Some of the topics that are vital to this include:

  • Understanding financial statements
  • Learning correct budgeting and cashflow management
  • Costing & pricing
  • Interpretation of accounts & ratio analysis
  • Understanding investment appraisal or capital budgeting

CERTIFICATION

A nationally recognised QQI Level 6 award in Finance (6N4165).

ASSESSMENT

  • Project (60%)
  • Assignments (40%)

METHOD OF DELIVERY/DURATION

  • Three options – Classroom, Blended and In-house.
  • Delivered over 120 hours (including independent study and assessment)
  • Delivered over 5 days/8 mornings.

COST

€495 per course, reductions for doing 2 or more courses. Further reduction in doing the full major award (Certificate in Advanced Business Management (6M4985) or integration of modules. Grants are also available.

PROGRESSION

Upon successful completion of this programme, the learner will be able to analyse businesses and understand management accounts. They will possess the necessary skills, knowledge and competence to gain employment in a financial role. Mapped onto the NQF at level 6, you may use this module as a minor award towards gaining a full major award in many different Level 6 programmes, including the Certificate in Advanced Business Management (6M4985). This Certificate will enable you to progress to other programmes at level 6 or higher including colleges and higher education providers.
