The 5N1405 Public Relations QQI Minor award aims to provide a learner with the relevant knowledge, skills and capacity to work in the PR area by introducing learners to the discipline and creating an awareness of the importance of public relations in today’s business environment for organisations in the public, private and social economy sectors. This will allow the learner to complete a PR campaign and in the administration requirements of a number of different types of organisation and to allow the learner to work effectively under supervision in a number of administrative processes.

REQUIREMENTS
- Individuals who have an interest in public relationship management, with a particular emphasis on understanding how the specific role of Public Relations links into its relationship with other communications professions including marketing advertising, sales promotion and journalism
- Those wishing to pursue a career in public relations and to conduct PR proposals and campaigns
- This seeking to enhance PR practice and explore media relations, sponsorship, managing events, corporate communications, internal communications, crisis management and public affairs in relation to organisational development

- Collating a Customised PR Campaign

- Three options – Classroom, Blended and In-house.
- Delivered over 120 hours (including independent study and assessment).
- Delivered over 5 days/8 mornings
COST
€250 per course. There are reductions for doing 2 or more courses to reach the full major award or integration of modules
PROGRESSION
Upon successful completion of this programme, the learner will have the relevant knowledge and skills of Public Relations for a range of different organisations. Mapped onto the NQF at level 5, you may use this module as a minor award towards gaining a full major award in many different Level 5 programmes. MIDAS Learning use this module as one of the optional modules for the Major Award in Business Administration (5M2468). This Certificate will enable you to progress to other programmes at level 6 or higher including colleges and higher education providers.
