OVERVIEW

A great presenter has two unique qualities: appropriate skills for subject area and presenting their expertise and personal confidence.

This confidence comes from knowing what you want to say and being comfortable with your communication skills. This course is aimed at improving your skills and teaching new techniques which will give you the persuasive edge when you are making a presentation, fielding difficult questions, or presenting complex information. The course will cover all areas, including preparation and methods of delivery whether you have one minute or one week to prepare and how reduce nervousness / fear of presentation. It will also focus on different presentation techniques in order to get the best outcome.

REQUIREMENTS

This course has been designed for:

  • Persons who have an interest in public speaking, and may need it in their role in work
  • Individuals who have obtained a Special Purpose Certificate in Training and Development (6S3372) and want to work on developing their skills in public speaking.
  • Individuals who regularly give presentations as part of their job and want to become confident in speaking in public

INDICATIVE CONTENT

  • Quick and easy preparation techniques – whatever the scenario
  • Develop techniques to create a professional presence, including advanced communication methods, body language, developing your speaking voice, controlling your jitters and other presentation techniques that establish your credibility and get people on your side
  • Understanding and identifying ways to gain rapport with your audience
  • Planning your presentation, visual aids, different types of presentations and structuring the presentation – beginnings/endings and adding punch to your presentations
  • Practice presentations
