OVERVIEW
This workplace harassment course is designed to give participants a clear understanding of their role and responsibility in implementing and upholding current practice and policy on bullying and harassment in the workplace. This course is intended for Senior Management, Supervisors and Managers, and all who have a responsibility to manage a team or group of employees in a workplace. How do you prevent harassment from occurring? What sorts of policies should be in place? What should managers do to protect their employees? And if a complaint is filed, what will we do? All of these questions (and more) will be answered in this course.
REQUIREMENTS
- Persons who work in a human resource position or are responsible for managing staff in an organisation.

- Understanding what workplace harassment is (and isn’t) – Definitions and Legislation informing the behaviour.
- Understand different types of Bullying and Harassment by looking at Individual as well as organisational causes.
- The effects of bullying on an individual / within a department
- The Legal context – process and outcome
- Prevention of bullying and harassment – Protect yourself and your staff against harassment incidents and complaints.
- Resolution – understanding when mediation is and is not appropriate, the four-stage complaint resolution process, identifying solutions to a harassment complaint.
- Help your organisation/business create and implement a harassment policy.

PROGRESSION
This Continuous Professional Development course has been designed to support participants to improve their ability to effectively address and manage any harassment allegations made within the organisation. It will help managers and supervisors implement a customised harassment policy into their organisation. Participants have gone on to complete many of the management accredited courses at QQI Level 6 including Employment Law, Business Management, HR and Conflict Management.
